Reporting to the Public Relations Director, the PR Specialist’s primary focus will be on developing and promoting content to support the opening of our new Native North American Hall scheduled to open in late 2021. This person will work closely with the PR and Marketing team members to promote the Field’s mission, visitor experiences, public programs, and partnerships to the media and public. The ideal candidate is excited to be a key player in the museum’s ongoing publicity strategy focused on opening our new Native North American Hall; they will also help coordinate various day-to-day media relations tasks beyond the Museum’s Native-centric projects to connect with a variety of audiences. Prior experience working with Native American communities is ideal. This person must be incredibly organized and prompt, nimble and able to adapt when things don’t go according to plan, and excel under tight timelines and multiple assignments. The PR specialist should be eager to learn and build their media relations skills in a fast-paced and high-energy environment. They will succeed by being a team player and valuing collaboration.
